Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the BEL Basic Materials Net Return, BEL Financials Net Return and BEL Industrials Net Return sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 1.70% or 2.95 points to trade at 176.70 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) added 1.11% or 0.07 points to end at 6.35 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) was up 0.75% or 0.36 points to 48.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which fell 2.50% or 1.86 points to trade at 72.44 in late trade. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.72% or 9.00 points to end at 513.60 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) down 1.45% or 0.40 points to 27.18.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 51 to 41 and 15 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; up 1.70% or 2.95 to 176.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 13.50 to $2,742.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.00% or 0.71 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.67 to trade at $74.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 104.07.
