Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Beverage, Consumer Goods and Construction & Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.72% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delhaize Group (BR:DELB), which rose 3.61% or 3.21 points to trade at 92.15 at the close. Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) added 3.38% or 3.85 points to end at 117.85 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 2.99% or 1.33 points to 45.99 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 2.71% or 1.530 points to trade at 54.850 in late trade. Elia (BR:ELI) added 0.61% or 0.265 points to end at 43.815 and UCB (BR:UCB) gained 0.78% or 0.63 points to 81.11.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 36 and 5 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.52% or 16.50 to $1067.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.99% or 0.83 to hit $40.91 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.56% or 0.69 to trade at $43.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.0635, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.6989.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 99.80.
