Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the BEL Industrials Net Return, BEL Technology Net Return and BEL Health Care Net Return sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.66% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 3.52% or 5.35 points to trade at 157.40 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 1.71% or 7.70 points to end at 459.10 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was up 1.60% or 0.95 points to 60.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which fell 1.92% or 1.08 points to trade at 55.08 in late trade. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 1.70% or 1.35 points to end at 78.15 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) down 0.31% or 0.04 points to 13.07.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 53 to 42 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; up 3.52% or 5.35 to 157.40. Shares in Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) fell to 5-year lows; down 0.31% or 0.04 to 13.07.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.25% or 6.15 to $2,421.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.65% or 1.27 to hit $75.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 1.21 to trade at $79.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 104.38.
