Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the BEL Consumer Goods Net Return, BEL Technology Net Return and BEL Basic Materials Net Return sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB), which rose 27.09% or 34.00 points to trade at 159.50 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 2.71% or 1.55 points to end at 58.65 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was up 1.57% or 1.20 points to 77.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB), which fell 2.59% or 280.00 points to trade at 10,540.00 in late trade. Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) declined 1.63% or 0.53 points to end at 32.05 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) down 1.18% or 0.56 points to 46.84.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by 50 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
Shares in D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) rose to 52-week lows; up 27.09% or 34.00 to 159.50.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.17% or 31.41 to $2,717.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.80% or 0.55 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.45 to trade at $72.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 106.21.
