Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.38% or 0.173 points to trade at 12.693 at the close. Elia (BR:ELI) added 1.30% or 0.600 points to end at 46.585 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.95% or 0.20 points to 21.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which lost 1.38% or 0.77 points to trade at 54.89 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.15% or 0.22 points to end at 18.92 and UCB (BR:UCB) shed 0.74% or 0.46 points to 61.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 67 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.36% or 4.30 to $1186.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.89% or 1.83 to hit $45.25 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.66% or 1.80 to trade at $47.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0627, while EUR/GBP fell 0.62% to 0.8498.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 101.14.
