Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the BEL Health Care Net Return, BEL Utilities Net Return and BEL Technology Net Return sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which rose 2.30% or 0.50 points to trade at 22.20 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:UCB) added 1.61% or 2.75 points to end at 173.75 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was up 0.81% or 0.60 points to 74.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which fell 2.34% or 0.60 points to trade at 25.06 in late trade. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) declined 2.29% or 4.40 points to end at 188.10 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) down 1.57% or 0.44 points to 27.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 59 to 30 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.92% or 25.35 to $2,734.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.45% or 1.04 to hit $70.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.42% or 1.08 to trade at $74.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 104.29.
