Investing.com -- Amid fears emerging over a new Covid-19 variant detected in South Africa, shares of the airline company Spicejet Ltd (BO: SPJT ) have declined 5.07% to Rs 76.8 apiece at 12:14 pm on Friday.

Following weak global cues, the Indian benchmark indices Nifty50 and BSE Sensex 30 are trading in red today, both declined over 2% at 12:15 pm on Friday. Besides Nifty Pharma , none of the sectoral indices opened in green on Friday.

Global markets are trading in negative due to fears of the new variant impacting growth.

After WHO has red-flagged the new B.1.1.529 variant of Covid-19, the Indian government has tightened the screenings and testing of international passengers travelling/transiting from South Africa, Botswana, and Hong Kong.

SpiceJet settled a lawsuit filed by Goshawk and its trustee Wilmington Trust SP Services, Dublin yesterday, in attempts to stop the transfer of its cargo and logistics business to a separate company, which has now led the airlines to complete its spin-off by January 2022.

Covid19 increase is just a balloon to reduce price of market so that big bulls can enter.
