Real estate stock jumps 8% after it bags order worth ₹ 146.39 crores 

Shares of NBCC (NS: NBCC ) (India) Ltd jumped around 8 percent today and is currently trading at a price of Rs 33.40. Keeping a purview of six months, the stock has been able to deliver a return of around 7.8 percent to its stakeholders.

One of the probable reasons for such an uptrend in the company’s stock is pertaining to a couple of work orders received by the company.

Through a filing with the exchange yesterday, NBCC announced the receipt of work orders from Ghani Khan Choudhary Institute of Engineering and Technology (GKCIET) of Rs 46.39 crores for the purpose of construction of Hostel building, boundary wall, etc.

Moreover, it received an order from the Small Industrial Development Bank of India (NS: BOI )(SIDBI) of Rs 100 crores with regards to the redevelopment, repair & maintenance, facility management services, etc.

NBCC (India) Ltd is engaged in the urban and regional development sector. Operating segments of the company comprises of Project Management Consultancy, Real Estate Development, and Construction segment. The business activities of the company functions through India and derives majority of its revenue from the Project Management Consultancy segment.

The financials have shown some mixed movements in the financial reporting as far as the revenues and net profits are concerned. Revenues have moved up from Rs 2,029.7 crores in Q2 to Rs 2,135.78 crores in Q3. Net profits, on the other hand, showed a down movement from Rs 97.69 crores in Q2 to Rs 71.39 crores in Q3.

The profitability ratios of the company have dipped on a YoY basis with ROE moving from 15.52 percent in FY20-21 to 13.95 percent in FY21-22. ROCE, in congruence with the trend shown, moved down from 33.18 percent in FY20-21 to 28.95 percent in FY21-22.

As per the quarter ending December 2022, promoters hold a constant 61.75 percent stake in the company. FIIs have increased their stake from 3.31 percent in Q2 to 3.36 percent in Q3.
