Investing.com - Raytheon (NYSE: RTN ) Technologies reported on Tuesday second quarter earnings that beat analysts' forecasts and revenue that fell short of expectations.

Raytheon Technologies announced earnings per share of $1.16 on revenue of $16.31B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $1.12 on revenue of $16.6B.

Raytheon Technologies shares are up 9% from the beginning of the year and are trading at $94.57 , down-from-52-week-high.They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 16.77% year to date.

Union Pacific had beat expectations on Thursday with second quarter EPS of $2.93 on revenue of $6.27B, compared to forecast for EPS of $2.84 on revenue of $6.12B.
