Nifty 50 stock in focus after reporting 71% QoQ increase in the net profits

Shares of this Nifty 50 stock are in focus today after posting Q3FY25 results, with a market cap of Rs 97,662.46 Crores, the shares of this finance stock were trading around Rs 523.30 per share, 0.9% down from its previous close of Rs 527.45.

Q3 FY25 Results

Shriram Finance Ltd’s (NSE:SHMF) Net profit was up by 73%, from Rs 1,874 Crores in Q3FY24 to Rs 3,249 Crores in Q3FY25. Their NII (Net Interest Income) was up by 14.31%, from Rs 5,094 Crores to Rs 5,823 Crores over the same period. Their EPS (excluding exceptional items) increased by 14.36%, from Rs 9.68 to Rs 11.07 over the same period. Their assets under management increased by 18.78% from Rs 2,14,233 Crores to Rs 2,54,470 Crores over the same period.

Branches and AUM Distribution

In Q3FY25, the distribution of AUM under rural increased to Rs 1,28,661 crores as against Rs 1,06,580 Crores in Q3FY24, rural contributed to the majority of AUM, followed by semi-urban and Urban. In Q3FY25, the distribution of AUM under semi-urban increased to Rs 87,530 crores as against Rs 76,200 Crore in Q3FY24 and the distribution of AUM under urban increased to Rs 38,279 crores as against Rs 31,460 Crores over the same period.

The majority of branches are in rural areas with 1707 branches in rural, 435 branches in urban and 1,054 branches in semi-urban. The number of branches grew by 5% in Q3FY25, from 3,037 branches in Q3FY24 to 3,196 branches

Segment-wise AUM Break up

Commercial Vehicles are the major contributor of AUM, with 45.5%, followed by passenger vehicles at 20.4%, MSME at 13.6%, construction equipment at 7%, Two-wheelers at 6%, Personal loans at 3.4%, Gold at 2.2%, Farm equipment at 1.9% of the total AUM of Rs 2,54,470 Crores.

Shares of Shriram Finance Ltd were trading around Rs 523.30, which was 0.9% down from its previous close of Rs 527.45. The stock is trading at a 28% discount from its 52-week high of Rs 730.45 per share.
