Investing.com -- Another day, another fall, and the 15,900 mark remains out of reach for Nifty. This time it was the Dragon that sparked volatility in Asia and caused Nifty and the BSE Sensex to give up early trading gains and close lower 0.49% and 0.52% respectively.

Pharma stocks took a pounding in the markets today. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS: REDY ) lost 10.31% after it said that it was investigating an improper payments issue in Ukraine and other markets and that it was responding to a subpoena of documents in the US. Cipla Ltd. (NS: CIPL ) lost 3.61% and Divi's Laboratories Ltd. (NS: DIVI ) lost 2.46%. AXIS Bank Ltd (NS: AXBK ) lost 3.26% as markets were disappointed with its numbers, and Adani Ports (NS: APSE ) lost 3% as well.

Nifty closed at 15,746, and market experts have advised keeping a light handle on trades for the next couple of days taking into account the monthly F&O expiry on Thursday. They expect volatility to continue for the next two sessions.

In Asia, Nikkei 225 closed up 0.49% while KOSPI 50 closed up 0.24% and the Shanghai Composite closed down 2.49%. At the time of this report, all US futures are trading down with Dow Jones 30 Futures down 0.42%, S&P 500 Futures down 0.31% and Nasdaq 100 Futures down 0.12%.
