Investing.com – Canada equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as in the sectors propelled shares .

At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite unchanged 0%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite were Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX: EFR ), which unchanged 0% or 0 points to trade at 7.950 at the close. NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX: NXE ) unchanged 0% or 0 points to end at 5.280 and Boralex Inc (TSX: BLX ) was unchanged 0% or 0 points to 32.51 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Maple Leaf Foods Inc . (TSX: MFI ), which unchanged 0% or 0 points to trade at 32.31 in late trade. Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd . (TSX: AEM ) unchanged 0% or 0 points to end at 70.09 and Torex Gold Resources Inc (TSX: TXG ) 0% or 0 points to 15.51.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 735 to 355 and 79 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was unchanged 0% to 24.89.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.63% or 12.05 to $1911.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.68% or 3.32 to hit $93.53 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.10% or 1.95 to trade at $94.94 a barrel.

CAD/USD was unchanged 0% to 0.7846, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0% to 0.6937.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 96.112.
