Investing.com – Canada equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as in the sectors propelled shares .

At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite unchanged 0%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite were SSR Mining Inc (TSX: SSRM ), which unchanged 0% or 0 points to trade at 23.58 at the close. Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSX: AAV ) unchanged 0% or 0 points to end at 6.000 and OceanaGold Corporation (TSX: OGC ) was unchanged 0% or 0 points to 2.150 in late trade.

Biggest losers included New Gold Inc (TSX: NGD ), which unchanged 0% or 0 points to trade at 2.510 in late trade. Hut 8 Mining Corp (TSX: HUT ) unchanged 0% or 0 points to end at 7.580 and Aritzia Inc (TSX: ATZ ) 0% or 0 points to 54.16.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 594 to 409 and 115 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was unchanged 0% to 24.89.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.63% or 12.05 to $1911.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.68% or 3.32 to hit $93.53 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.10% or 1.95 to trade at $94.94 a barrel.

CAD/USD was unchanged 0% to 0.7846, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0% to 0.6937.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 96.112.
