Canada shares lower at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite down 0.06%
Credit: © Reuters. – Canada equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare , Clean Technology and Consumer Discretionary sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite declined 0.06%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite were Colliers International Group Inc Bats (TSX: CIGI ), which rose 5.69% or 7.67 points to trade at 142.39 at the close. Nutrien Ltd (TSX: NTR ) added 4.35% or 2.99 points to end at 71.71 and Gibson Energy Inc . (TSX: GEI ) was up 4.00% or 0.90 points to 23.39 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Ballard Power Systems Inc (TSX: BLDP ), which lost 20.35% or 5.05 points to trade at 19.79 in late trade. Bausch Health Companies Inc (TSX: BHC ) declined 10.62% or 4.10 points to end at 34.49 and IAMGold Corporation (TSX: IMG ) shed 8.60% or 0.35 points to 3.72.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 400 to 259 and 329 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was unchanged 0% to 11.27.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.87% or 15.55 to $1776.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.85% or 1.19 to hit $65.68 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.89% or 1.28 to trade at $68.84 a barrel.

CAD/USD was down 0.25% to 0.8123, while CAD/EUR rose 0.22% to 0.6765.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 91.287.
