Overview
Consumer credit measures the amount borrowed by the UK personal sector to finance current expenditure on goods and services. For consumer credit, the UK personal sector comprises individuals only (housing associations, incorporated businesses and other non-profit making bodies serving persons are excluded).
A reading that is stronger than forecast is generally supportive (bullish) for the GBP , while a weaker than forecast reading is generally negative (bearish) for the GBP.
