Small Cap Index Rallied More Than 1% After Taking Support Of Its 4 Month Low

The Indian Cash market benchmark Index NIFTY Smallcap 100 gained more than 1% in the last trading session after taking the support of its Oct 18 low of 5670. The Index made a recent low of 5660 on 18th Feb and gained more than 100 points from there to make a high of 5755 and finally closed at 5746 on 20th February 2019.

Energy Oil and Gas were the top sectors last day which rose by 1.82% followed by Infra which rose by 1.55% and Metals 1.49%. Among the minor sectors, Telecom and Carbon were at the top. The Nifty Index also rallied 1.24% to reach near its 2 day high of 10760 and finally closed at 10735. The Big players in the market FII and PRO have booked profit in more than 1 lakh contract of their short position in Index Options.

The Finance Ministry on Wednesday announced that it will pump in Rs.48239 crore in 12 Public Sector Banks in this fiscal, to help them maintain regulatory capital requirements and finance growth plans. The Corporation Bank (NS: CRBK ) and Allahabad Bank (NS: ALBK ) were in the top among the PSU Banks to get Rs. 9086 crore and Rs. 6896 crore respectively.

On the International front, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters the U.S.-China trade talks are "going very well" and added that an early March deadline to reach a deal could be postponed. Trump claimed China is "trying to move fast" so that an increase in tariffs on Chinese goods currently set to take effect does not happen.

US Data
The US 10 Year T-Note is trading at 122.01. The Bond has broken its important low of 120.03 on 2nd Oct 2018. The US Dollar Index is trading at 96.333.
