Indian Market Outlook: On 4th May, the Benchmark Index Nifty 50 opened at 9361, 49 points gap up from its previous day close of 9312. The Index made a high of 9366 and closed at 9360. Axis Bank was up by 3.59%, Adani (NS:APSE) Ports by 3.66%, Grasim by 3.88%, ICICI Bank (NS:ICBK) by 9.18%, SBI (NS:SBI) by 3.19% were among the major movers in the Index. HCL Tech was down by 2.05%, Tata Motors (NS:TAMO) by 2.26%, Hindalco by 2.33% were among the losers in the Index.
Yesterday, Bank Nifty made a new all time high of 22744 and closed at 22720. With the announcements of results and Bonus declaration in the ratio of 1:10, ICICI Bank made a new 52 week high of 299.75. ICICI Bank has a weightage of around 17% in the Bankning Index. Most of the banks were trading in green yesterday, except Kotak Mahindra Bank (NS:KTKM) which was down by 1.25% and Indusind Bank by 1.27%.
The Small Cap Index also made a new all time high of 7587 and closed at 7570.
Nifty to open gap down by 33 points at 9348 against yesterdays close of 9381 as per SGX Nifty.
CASH SEGMENT FII AND DII ACTIVITY:
On 4th May 17, FII sold Rs.601.12 Crore in cash segment and DII bought Rs.926.10 Crore. In combined FII and DII have a net buy figure of Rs.324.98 Crore.

In the Current Expiry, FIIs are net sellers of 14903 contracts in Index Future, since on the starting of the expiry, ie, on 28th Apr, the net Open Interest was 150478 and as on last date, ie, on 4th May, the net figure is 135575. PRO have a net sell figure of 15431 contracts in the expiry, since on the starting date, ie, on 28th Apr, the net figure was (-)61721 and on the last date, ie, on 4th May, the net figure is (-)77152.
OPEN INTEREST IN INDEX OPTIONS:
In the Current Expiry, FIIs are net buyers of 10698 contracts in Index options, since on the starting of the expiry, ie, on 28th Apr, the net Open Interest was (-)172803 and as on last date, ie, on 4th May, the net figure is(-)162105. PRO have a net buy figure of 53789 contracts in the expiry, since on the starting date, ie, on 28th Apr, the net figure was 127324 and on the last date, ie, on 4th May, the net figure is 181113.
INTERNATIONAL MARKET UPDATE:
Yesterday, S&P made a high of 2391 and closed at 2390 after making a low of 2380. Republicans’ proposal to repeal and replace Obamacare — passed the House in a close vote on Thursday afternoon. US stocks closed flat ahead of Job data. The choppy trading on Wall Street came as traders looked ahead to the release of the Labor Department's closely watched monthly jobs report on Friday. Employment is expected to increase by 180,000 jobs in April after rising by 98,000 jobs in March. The unemployment rate is expected to tick up to 4.6 percent from 4.5 percent.
The European Markets on Thursday closed high as the Investors reacted positively to the latest batch of corporate earnings reports. The numbers from HSBC, Adidas (DE:ADSGN) and Royal Dutch Shell (LON:RDSa).
Dax, the German Index closed at 12648, nearly 120 points from the previous day close.
The Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) Emerging Market Index is trading at 980.07
